Dear Parents / Guardians,
When I began in this school district, I was first a social studies teacher. My next position was high school guidance counselor and then principal of Clarendon School. Now, I am the principal of Secaucus High School and so very proud to be here.
Throughout my career in education, I have learned two very important things: first, in order for our children to achieve, we must make school a priority in their lives. And second, educators cannot do this alone. We need you, the parents and guardians, to help.
I am, therefore, asking you to take an active role in your children’s education. Help your children set up academic and personal goals. Make sure they come to school prepared. Become familiar with the classes and activities that your children are involved in throughout the school year. Encourage them to be more attentive in their classes and to become participants in the diverse co-curricular activities and athletic programs that our high school has to offer.
And should you have any questions or concerns at anytime, do not hesitate to contact your child’s guidance counselor.
Whether our students choose to continue on to college or at a trade school or in the workplace, please know that they will receive the best academic foundation provided here at SHS. We have a dedicated, experienced professional staff.
And on the technology front, all classrooms will soon be equipped with Promethean Boards, which will advance our students’ education to new levels by preparing them to meet the challenges of today’s global community.
Remember, we all want our students to achieve. And together, we can make it happen.
Sincerely,
Deidre A. Ertle
