Secaucus High School strives to provide an integrated, harmonious, and continuous educational process. Through this process we endeavor to develop in each person the capacity for self-worth and a willingness to participate responsibly and productively in society. We also demonstrate, through our educational philosophy and goals, that education is both a right and a privilege.

Our high school is among the smallest in Hudson County. We are proud of our diversified student body, which is characteristic of a much larger school. Our combined energies serve to create an atmosphere of respect, support, and cooperation among students, faculty, administration, support staff, families, and the community. Because we are an extension of the community, we strive to create a stimulating environment hat encourages sensitivity to cultural differences while providing for the maximum development of intellectual, ethical, social, emotional, and physical growth.

Secaucus High School offers its students a broad variety of programs that will prepare them to pursue a wide range of post-secondary choices. A dedicated and talented faculty is responsible for implementing an academic program which offers numerous honors and advanced placement courses, cross-content curriculum experiences, opportunities in the fine and performing arts, life skills, and career training.

The Secaucus school district is proud to offer state-of-the-art educational technology to its staff and students. Throughout our classrooms, labs, media centers, and offices are the tools to provide opportunities for research, exploration, and communications on a global level.

Academies in Science and Math, Media and Communications, and Future Teacher development, have been incorporated into the curriculum. These four-year programs offer rigorous, intensive courses that prepare our students to enter a variety of fields. We have created partnerships with Syracuse University and St. Peter’s College to offer Advanced Placement courses that allow our students to obtain college credits in advance of graduation form high school.

The Senior Internship Program offers twelfth-grade students the opportunity to leave school during the spring semester of their senior year to experience possible careers in the actual work environment. Our industrialized region and proximity to New York City provide a wealth of career choices for our students to explore.

Our student body benefits from smaller-than-average class sizes and student/teacher ratio. This is possible because we have fewer administrators per student than other districts. On average, nearly eighty-percent of our graduates further their studies at colleges and universities, including highly-regarded institutions such as Georgetown, Cornell, Penn State, Rutgers, Stevens Institute of Technology, MIT, Johns Hopkins, NYU, Syracuse University, University of Delaware, and TCNJ.

The administrators and staff at Secaucus High School have a firm commitment to providing an educational setting for our students that affords them the opportunity to grow into, and achieve success, in their adult lives through comprehensive experiences.  While we place a strong emphasis on academic excellence, the administration also encourages participation in co-curricular and extracurricular activities that are vital to the development of well-rounded students. Secaucus High School can boast of a wide range of successful programs that encourage academic, artistic, physical, and social growth in the areas of academic challenge teams, world language and literary experiences, athletic teams, the fine and performing arts, civic clubs and organizations, and community services.

Secaucus High School is well-positioned to provide excellent educational experiences for its students in the twenty-first century. We continue to set goals, adapt to changes in educational philosophy, work to remain ‘current’ in the ever-changing world of technology, continually update curriculum, and strive to work within the community to partner with government, businesses, and our families to give our students the best chance to enjoy successful adult lives..
